This epidermis consists of normal human keratinocytes cultured on an inert polycarbonate filter at the air-liquid interface, in a chemically defined medium, being a model histologically and functionally similar to the human epidermis in vivo.
In addition to being cruelty free, these studies are more rigorous than conventional human evaluations.
AIN Vegan S.A. performs these analyses at the Laboratory of Alternative Methods to the Use of Animals of the EBAL consortium, a platform led by the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research of Argentina (CONICET).
The scientific team that is part of the LMA works in the research and development of methodologies and strategies to find alternative systems to the use of animals that improve the 3Rs processes (reduce, recycle, reuse) and develop new optimization techniques and applicability in medicines, cosmetics, health products and medical technology.
